Garage Radios

These are fun projects that are as simple or complex as you choose to make them.  If you can install an after-market radio you have all the necessary skills for this project.

Parts needed:

- Power Supply: Any DC power supply with an output of 12-14v and 15-30 amps is sufficient.
I have been quite happy with this one from eTopixzu on Amazon.  Cost hovers around $20.

- Radio: Any car radio, free is always good. I have used JVC and BOSS units for my builds so far.

- Speakers: Any set of working speakers will do. Auto speakers or home speakers both work, though I have always kept them paired as front and back sets.  [Warning: I have been told that operating a radio without all of the outputs connected to speakers can damage the unit.  As a safety precaution I have always paired speakers Left & Right Front and used the audio settings to set the fade all the way to the Front speakers]

- Housing: Anything you want, build it out of wood, sheet steel, an old tool box.  Whatever strikes your fancy.  [Warning: Building the housing out of metal will seriously disrupt Bluetooth signals]
